Darlene Mae (Siebert) Janzen was born on June 2, 1933 to Peter P. and Anna (Peters) Siebert. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1951. After high school, Darlene attended the Kearney State Teachers College and attained her teaching certificate. She taught in a Nebraska country school from 1951-1954, and then worked briefly at General Electric, Back-to-the-Bible and Elgin Watch Co. in Lincoln, NE. On May 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Richard F. Janzen at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, NE. The couple was blessed with four children: Cemlyn, Tamra, Doyle and Nathan. Darlene pursued opportunities for learning and especially enjoyed working puzzles of any kind. She was a generous and gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. She will be remembered for her large and well-tended vegetable and flower gardens and for having the best zweiback.
